Uganda Bulaago – Mount Elgon Natural A coffee with history, heart, and incredible flavor

Ever wondered what it’s like to drink coffee from one of Africa’s most ancient volcanic regions? Well, you’re in for a treat! This special natural processed coffee comes from the gentle slopes of Mount Elgon, an extinct volcano that’s believed to be the oldest in Africa (how cool is that?).

From the moment you open the bag, you’ll be greeted with enticing aromas of rich cacao and fresh black currants. In the cup, this coffee reveals layers of indulgent chocolate and juicy plum sweetness, finishing with a bright lemon citrus zing and a lovely nutty complexity reminiscent of pecans and walnuts. It’s like a dessert and refreshing fruit bowl all in one!

Grown by small-holder farmers in the Bulaago community at impressive altitudes of 1900-2100m, this coffee benefits from volcanic soils, abundant sunshine, and perfect growing conditions. The farmers carefully select only the ripest cherries, which are then naturally processed and dried on raised beds for 21 days – that’s three weeks of careful attention to bring out all those amazing flavors we mentioned.

What makes this coffee even more special? Every bag you buy helps support the Bulaago community through our partners at Zukuka Bora Coffee Company. They work with JENGA Community Development to fund local projects in education, clean water access, and farming support. So your morning brew isn’t just delicious – it’s making a real difference.
